D-series Broadlighters

Superlum D-series Broadlighters are broadband, very low-coherence AC powered benchtop light sources based on two singlemode fiber coupled superluminescent diode modules with slightly shifted central wavelengths, the emissions of which are combined by appropriate broadband singlemode fiber couplers. Design of SLD module controllers ensures excellent operation stability of light sources.

The devices are developed for optical test and measurement applications including:

  • Optical coherence tomography
  • Characterization of optical components
  • Optical fiber metrology
  • Optical measurements

From July 2005, all D-series Broadlighters are delivered with RS-232 remote control capability. Superlum offers companion software to operate your D-series Broadlighter remotely from your PC/laptop. See the downloads page for details.

The following D-series Broadlighters are commercially available:

  • D830PDF (158 Kb), 70-nm FWHM light sources at 830 nm, output power – up to 12 mW.

  • D855PDF (37 Kb), 100-nm FWHM light sources at 855 nm, output power – up to 12 mW.

  • D890PDF (156 Kb), 150-nm FWHM light sources at 890 nm, output power – up to 6 mW.

  • D980PDF (49 Kb), 210-nm FWHM light sources at 980 nm, 5 mW ex SM fiber output.

  • D1300-HPPDF (166 Kb), 85-nm FWHM light sources at 1300 nm, 100-nm FWHM versions on request.
