Superlum Pilot-6 Companion Software

Superlum Pilot-6 Companion Software enables you to operate your Pilot-6 remotely from your PC/laptop using the standard RS-232 interface. This page provides detailed instructions on how to download and install the latest version of the software. Please contact our support team if you have any problems downloading or installing the software.

  Overview
 

The program interface mostly duplicates the indicators and push-buttons on the Pilot's front panel. You can remotely turn the SLD current on/off, switch between "High" and "Low" modes, and monitor the state of the front panel indicators.

  Installation instructions
 

To use this program you have to install it and connect the Pilot-6 to your computer. Please use a 9 pin to 9 pin or 9 pin to 25 pin null modem cable to connect the Pilot-6 to your computer.

CAUTION: Always turn off all electrical power to the computer and to the Pilot-6 before connecting or disconnecting the RS-232 cable.

You can install the program either from CD or from web download.

To install from a CD, insert the CD-ROM. If autorun is enabled, the installer will begin automatically. Otherwise, double-click the setup.exe file on the CD-ROM to start the setup program.

To install from a Web download, you will download the Companion_1_0_Setup.exe file from this page by clicking the Download button above. Double-click the file you downloaded and the installation will begin automatically.

Follow the on-screen instructions in the setup program. Setup program will copy program files to your hard drive and create shortcuts on the desktop and in the programs menu.

When you launch the program for the first time a 'settings' window will appear. Select the name of the COM port to which you are connecting the Pilot-6 and press the OK button.
